Random Thoughts From Kailee Today
.if you are watching Denver's Real World you know contestent, Tyrie. The bull headed but loyal 23-year-old from Omaha, Nebraska. Blu's Amy Hoff had the opportunity to have a photo shoot with him before he made it big!! Check out her newly launched site at www.amyzphoto.com and check out this boy's muscles.
. if life is getting a little fast paced take time to knit. Knitting is a form of meditation. I love this book because the wide selection of projects are
made up entirely of organic materials such as organic cotton. Imagine that against your babies skin. www.amazon.com Need eco-friendly accessories check out www.theyarntree.com
Note from Kailee - I love to watch the journey of photographers who still have to have a day job. Over the years it's amazing the growth. It's inspiring.
Who's That Guy??
My name- Matt Lange
My style- It is what it is. It changes at every
shoot. Honestly, I don't think I really have a set
style.
Where I'm from- Baton Rouge, LA
Why I do what I do- It's the only thing I can think
of that I absolutely love to do 100%. I get to be
inventive, and clients seek me out for my vision and don't expect something that I'm not known for doing.
The piece of equipment I can't part with- Canon EF
50mm 1.8 and a battery for my camera, HA!
The vendor you should know about- What's a vendor?
If I had to have someone shoot a portrait of me it
would be- John Michael Cooper. www.altf.com Maybe he'll set me on fire. That'd be awesome. I'd also like to throw out, Annie Leibovitz. That's probably reaching. But man that would be cool. Annie....John....if you're
reading this. www.mattlange.com. Shoot me a message!
When I'm bored you'll find me- Same place you'll find most men. In front of the tv, saying, "Man, I'm
bored".
A piece of advice that improved my photography- Wasn't really advice from a photographer. It was from my grandfather. He was the one that told me repeatedly I have a gift. So it wasn't really advice,
it was just inspiration to move forward and pursue something I was good at. So I guess that was the
best advice.
If not a photographer I would have been- A graphic designer. Oh wait, I am a graphic designer already.
You should check out- www.famoussas.com They have the best gear around. Endorsed by some pretty cool
people as well.
My friends think I'm - Oh god, depends on what mood I'm in. Probably crazy and absent minded most of the time. I tend to do/say a lot of things without thinking about who is around or what will happen.
My first photograph sold for- Big fat zero. It was actually a print I gave to my grandmother and it's
hanging in her kitchen.
Matt's favorite image of recent
I shop at- Barnes and Noble, Best Buy, Pac Sun,
Lids, and American Eagle for when I like to dress likeban adult. And the grocery store for nourishment.
A goal of mine- To be a fulltime photographer by the end of the year. Yes, I still have a day job. It's a great one. But my goal is to fly solo.
What I eat for breakfast- Does coffee count?
Because if made properly, you don't really have to
chew it.
The part of my business that leaves me tired-
Editing.
The perfect client is- A self-poser. What
photographer wouldn't appreciate that. Of course I
will throw in my own thoughts and ideas, but if a
client can think of their own poses....hey.....that's
easy.
The gum I chew- Dentyne Ice
My favorite software- Limewire. Oh wait. That's
stealing. Ummmm....photoshop?
Something I'm proud of- My family. They are the best. And my girlfriend. She has supported me
through all this mess. AND THE NEW ORLEANS SAINTS BABY!!!!! WE'LL GET 'EM NEXT YEAR!!! WHO DAT!?
On a Friday night at 8 PM you'll find me- Sadly, athome. Probably about to fall asleep, and hopefully resting for a shoot (those are always good to be doing). Driving from New Orleans to Baton Rouge every morning and night is exhausting (3 hours round trip, and yes I do it 5 days a week).
my URL is: www.mattlange.com
