My name- Jen Thompson

My style- I don't like to stick to a 'style'. I change a lot, and so does my 'style'. I find inspiration in random, unexpected places and I would say my style, is not having a style. I love color, texture, layering, mixing old with new. I love things that stand the test of time. Nothing super trendy or mainstream. I definitely prefer to do things that others don't or won't do.

Where I'm from- Bend, Oregon

Why I do what I do- I have a relentless creative itch!  I love the idea of marrying the ability to express something that is profoundly meaningful to me with the job of creating nostalgia that might intimately and quietly touch the lives of others.

The piece of equipment I can't part with- my Blackberry and my Ipod.

A piece of advice that improved my photography- Look for unique light in unexpected places...

If not a photographer I would have been- An event coordinating, floral decorating, mad hatter cake making, funky paper & stationary store owner.

The part of my business that leaves me tired- Clients who just don't get it. 

The perfect client is- Someone who expects less than what I can do for them. I love to surprise my clients. I often shoot for tears. Fathers crying while viewing their images is a very, very good thing.

My favorite software- It's tie between Photoshop and Freehand.

Something I'm proud of- My two amazing, curly headed, miracle babies, Cooper and Cohen.

A comment to Joe- With 820 shots we posted the photographers first that had the most votes in our "those who didn't win section". They are deserving of recognition if our fans find them to be their favorite photographers and I did my fair job of posting random photographers that may have had a few signs in there name. Believe me some of them had over 200 signs made out to them alone.  We love you Joe. Our judges are not photographers isn't that the best judge. The ones that don't know anyone but choose based on what makes them laugh or go "wow that's a cool shot". We do our best. That's why I didn't judge, it's too hard and we know each contest we can't make everyone happy. But in the end Joe it's all for fun.

Brianna's 30 Random Thoughts At 4 a.m. this morning (yes she joined the team in an all nighter)

1) Creativity is key... always push the boundaries.

2) Make a difference.please - it's all we can do: www.PETA.org & www.fightglobalwarming.com

3) Adopt an animal - there are so many. Support your local 'no-kill' shelters.

4) Spend money to make money, live on the edge; it's the only chance we have.

5) Sleep is for later...

6) Fashionably late is still fashionable. Usually, it's worth the wait

7) Always free-pour your drinks - they get better as the night goes on.

8) Planning is completely - without a doubt - overrated.

9) Don't think everything can be done solo. Narcissism is self-defeating.

10) Be original; there is nothing admirable about doing something that has been done

11) College was, and will remain to be, a huge waste of money...

12) If you think you are overpriced - you are not.

13) Words to live by: Go Big - or Go Home

14) Humility is still admirable.... No, really - it IS.

. Everyone at Blu is pulling an all nighter.  This may be my favorite interface this year. (did you catch that one) I love this site.  LOVE! Brianna Graham is beyond creative and talented. We have so much love for this girl.

. I just want to tell you that I may call in sick tomorrow. The 780 entries for our contest are so GOOD. You all are absoutely amazing. I just look at these entries and can't believe that you all have  this much fun with me! It's always hard to choose just two winners. Imagine.

Jack News- Many of you know that Jack "BluDomain's gnome" passed away a week ago. He traveled around the world and visited famous photographers. Today we received flowers and a small frame with Jack's farewell picture. The package was signed by Jack's friend  Rico "the cowboy"  Rico stated that he just attended the funeral and is stranded with little to no cash. More on the side of "no cash"  Do we rescue this stranger that Jack hardly spoke about or ignore his collect calls.
