Already Famous!!
Blu's photographer, Rebecca Bouck makes a splash in this week's People Magazine on newsstands. If you watched Access Hollywood today you would have caught a glimpse of Bouck as she photographed the wedding of NBC's reality television show "The BIggest Loser" winners Matt Hover and Suzy Preston.
Rebecca Bouck is from Phoenix, Arizona.
I caught up with Rebecca for this exclusive interview!
Where did you travel to to shoot the wedding- Jamaica
Name three things you have with you at the wedding- A diffuser for the bright sun, my assistant to hold the diffuser and all of my camera gear.
What are somethings you did to prepare for the wedding- I looked at the wedding location a day before the wedding to assess the lighting conditions and I also scouted out where I would take the family portraits and portraits of the couple. Since I was in Jamaica several days before the wedding, I photographed some detail shots of the rings and her dress before the wedding day.
What did Suzy wear- She wore diamond earrings and a necklace from her grandmother, a diamond bracelet from Matt and a beautiful designer gown layered with fabric.
What did Matt wear- A white, long-sleeved shirt with khaki pants and an orchid boutonniere.
What was one unique aspect of their wedding- After the wedding, they left for their honeymoon on a Jamaican Defense Force Helicopter.
What are your thoughts about your first celebrity wedding- It was a wonderful experience. I have photographed celebrity weddings before but I was always a second shooter. This was the first with my own company. I had to keep the wedding location a secret for so long!
How many hours did you shoot for- I shot for four hours.
What were some thoughts going through your head minutes before the wedding- I use two cameras to photograph weddings so that I do not need to switch lenses all the time. I made sure that I had my 85mm 1.2 lens on one camera and my 28-70mm 2.8 on the other. I had several other lenses available if needed. I also made sure that I checked my ISO on each camera and had plenty of space on my compact flash cards.
What were some thoughts going through your head during the wedding- Since they married in a gazebo I did not want to block the view of the guests. I also thought about the lighting and the best angles to capture the ceremony.
What did song did Suzy walk down the aisle to- She walked down the isle to the Hawaiian version of "Somewhere Over the Rainbow"
Is there something you wished you had done- I wish I would have brought more mosquito repellent. Jamaica has alot of mosquito's.
Did you give them any goodies- I gave Suzy a gift bag with "Just Married" flip flops, a fake diamond ring key chain, heart-shaped wedding rice with small bags for each guests and clips for the bags that had beach themed adornments (such as starfish and sea shells)
Did Matt cry- They both shed a few tears when Suzy's father spoke during the wedding ceremony. It was a very special moment.
On a scale of 1-10 (10 being amazing) how would you rate your final photographs- I was shooting under bad lighting conditions since the wedding took place at noon in Jamaica. Even with the strong sun, I'm pleased with the photographs.
And the question everyone wants to know have they kept their weight off- They both look great. They may have added a few pounds since the finale of the show but they still exercise and eat right.
