Photographer of the Day www.portraitsbypat.com
My name: Pat Wood
Where I reside: Texas
What type of photography I do: primarily newborns and children and dabbling here and there with engagements and weddings.
My favorite vendor...WHCC and Bludomain of course.
My next big purchase...Chenin and Doug's workshop in Austin is very, very tempting. I do know that I need some kind of GPS system ASAP.
What I didn't know then that I know now...Constructive criticism is good. It drives you to be better at what you do.
Most of my day is spent...Editing images and goofing off on the internet.
Three things I have with me on every shoot...I bring so much stuff to a shoot, it's not even funny. My lovely 5D, my primes, and my goofyness (you need this for children's portraits).
My favorite piece of equipment..My lovely 5D. This thing rocks!
An aspect of my business that is challenging...My height (hey, I'm barely 5 feet) and time management. I like to play a lot.
The forum that I find to be useful..I Love Photography. I've learned so much from this site alone.
The photographer that I respect in my industry is...Wow, there are so many that I respect but one that comes to mind is Jinky www.jinkyart.com.au . Her images are amazing.
**Pat's favorite image of recent
Something you'll always find in my refrigerator...take-outs from restaurants. My husband and I go out to eat too much.
5 years from now I will be...away from Texas for the whole summer since it's so hot here.
I'm addicted to..Popeye's chicken. I love their Tuesday special.
A personal flaw of mine..Time management. I love to play too much but I have to work to be able to play again.
I'm not too crazy about...grandmas who book a session for their grandson. They are sometimes so hard to work with.
Something on my radar this month...Looking into booking a cruise right now.
A CD I'm listening to right now...In my own words by Ne-Yo.
My favorite beauty product...anything made my MAC.
Something that drives me wild..Humm, will have to come back to that one. :)
3 things I could never part with....Chris (my supportive husband), friends/family, and my computer.
** Shaving is a sensual activity or least it should be with the right products. Some important tips: Make time to shave. Shave after a steamy shower or during a shower. Opt for quality shaving cream not soap or shaving cream from a can. Stay away from irritants such benzocaine which can make your shave uncomfortable. "Think sensual!" Lather up with a shaving brush not your fingers. A badge-hair brush is softer and absorbs the cream and water better.
And if possible natural remedies are always best. Love the line at Zia! www.zianatural.com and Crabtree-Evelyn carries very sophisticated badge-hair brushes www.crabtree-evelyn.com
** Did you know the "low-carb fad" is not so cool anymore. If you have removed them from you cupboards then it's time to put them back. What's the hot new way to eat? It's called "Whole Grains" Whole Grains defend against heart disease, stroke, diabetes and obesity.
Whole grains include: Amaranth, brown rice, buckwheat, corn (including popcorn), millet, oatmeal, quinoa, spelt and whole wheat.
** Spiders literally send me into a panic attack. There is nothing I like about these creepy creatures. However as much as I loathe them I find myself telling my "spider bodyguards" not to kill them. I don't like to kill anything. And low and behold I find this Escort Catcher by www.realcooltoys.com A 26-inch-long reach that allows access to hard-to-get places where spiders usually loiter. A great way to escort those ugly things out!
** Need advice on everyday life emergencies? The Worst-Case Scenario Survival Handbook packs hundreds of instant solutions to daily crises. What a great gift or a great book to have on your desk! I mean what do you do if you have "dog poop on your shoe?" www.barnesandnoble.com
** Did you know I'm dreading having my "photo booth" posted here tomorrow on the blog??
** Pair a graphic tee this fall with heels, slim jeans and jewelry! Pre-order this Blondie & The Doors vintage tee at www.trunkltd.com Vintage tees will be everywhere!
** If you are looking for a "home" for your dirty socks, underwear, toys you name it then something a little pretty is a must. I love these Crunch Hampers by Umbra www.umbra.com

Well of course if you're like me and you have to sell your car to buy this fabulous bag then you know there's always something simliar for a lot less money...
